Digital smile planning and design

Do you want to change or improve the appearance of your smile but aren’t sure what you would change? And what’s worse, are you worried that the day of the change will come and you won’t like the result because it wasn’t what you expected?

What if, before touching anything in your mouth, we could visualise how your new smile will look, make all the changes that you and your dentist deem necessary, and only once we are all in agreement, get to work in your mouth?

We present to you digital smile design.

What is it exactly?

Digital smile design (DSD) involves gathering a series of records such as photographs, models, and videos of the patient, importing them into a specially designed computer program, and then proceeding to make all the necessary changes to improve your smile.

Once the design is ready in the program, a resin model with all the changes made to your mouth is printed. To test the changes and see how they look in your mouth, we will transfer the shape of your new provisional resin teeth from the model to your mouth using a silicone key, without doing anything to your natural teeth.

This way, we can immediately see the real result in your mouth of what was planned and make any necessary adjustments to the provisional resin until we are happy with the outcome, and only then start working on your mouth.
